Stephanie Burt is a poet, literary critic, and Harvard professor with nine published books, including two critical books on poetry and three poetry collections, most recently We Are Mermaids (Graywolf, 2022). Her essay collection Close Calls with Nonsense was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Presented by the Edelstein-Keller Visiting Writer Series, and sponsored by the Creative Writing Program and the Department of English.

Free and open to the public with no reservations or tickets necessary, the presentation will be followed by Q&A and book signing.

(Burt will also speak at an Institute for Advanced Study hybrid event "Shipping Containers: How Lyric Poems Enter Commerce and Preserve People" at 3:30 pm February 9.)
