Minnesota Accessible Activities Calendar

Accessibility

The MNAA (Minnesota Access Alliance) is an alliance of arts and culture organizations dedicated to sharing knowledge and resources about accessibility in the state of Minnesota. It was formed after a group of arts and cultural administrators met through attendance at a Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability (LEAD) conference put on by the Kennedy Center. In the spring of 2017 a formal steering committee was formed, articles of incorporation drafted, and the MNAA was officially launched.

In October 2019, the MNAA took over operation of the Minnesota Accessible Activities Calendar when VSA Minnesota ceased operation in September 2019. VSA Minnesota’s dedication to this calendar has provided Minnesota with a central source of information for accessible arts events for over 20 years, and it’s the goal of the MNAA to keep this invaluable resource available.

For assistance with this calendar, contact info@mnaccess.org.

The Minnesota Accessible Activities Calendar is dedicated to listing events around the state that provide accessible services or accommodations for people with disabilities, including:

  • Audio Description (AD) for people who are blind or have low vision,
  • American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting for people who are deaf,
  • Captioning for people who are hard of hearing,
  • Sensory-friendly accommodations such as lower light or sound levels,
  • Artists with disabilities or disability-related topics.

The calendar can be searched by date, accommodation, venue, or type of event. If you are a Minnesota arts or cultural organization offering accessible programs and services, you can register an account to add events to the calendar.  New accounts need to be approved by the MNAA board prior to submitting events. All submitted events will be reviewed and approved by MNAA board before being published to the calendar. Please allow 48 hours for your registration and submission to be approved.

This calendar only lists events that provide explicit accommodations for people with disabilities. Information about the accessibility of the event location and provided accommodations is a requirement in order to be listed.

For a current listing of Accessibility Service Providers for hire, such as Audio Describers, ASL Interpreters, or CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation), contact info@mnaccess.org.
