About the Show
Oct. 21 - Nov. 5, 2023
by Jonathan Shapiro, directed by Laura Stearns
Justices Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the first two women on the Supreme Court, forged a friendship, fought for equity and changed the legal status of American women.
Sandra Day O'Connor was an extroverted Westerner who grew up on a ranch. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an introverted opera-loving New Yorker. Despite their differing backgrounds, methodologies, and political leanings, a friendship was forged between these first two women justices who fought for equity and changed the legal status of the American woman. This new play by Emmy and Peabody award-winning writer and lawyer Jonathan Shapiro is based on the award-winning book of the same name by Linda R. Hirshman.
