The wild adventures of a traveling poet and the dark spirits who pursue him.
Mixed Precipitation celebrates 18 years of outdoor summer fun with a futuristic version of Jacques Offenbach’s 1881 opera Tales of Hoffmann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann). With classical opera and a playlist of 90s grunge and pop tunes, this outdoor opera extravaganza is fun for all ages.
This evening of creativity, community, and live performance is presented by the Paradise Center at Central Park in Faribault. Audio description and ASL interpreting will be provided.
5:00 PM – Art-Making Activities
Get hands-on with free, all-ages art activities, including drawing led by Kate Langlais and a wool felting project led by Char Johnson.
7:00 PM – Live Performance
Experience Mixed Precipitation’s Pick-up Opera Volume 6: Tales of Hoffmann.
The performance runs approximately 80 minutes.
Community Impact
This event is presented in collaboration with the Community Action Center and the City of Faribault, with support from the Charitable Gambling Advisory Board. Guests are encouraged to bring a canned food item to support the Community Action Center.
