In this bittersweet comedy, Annie and her friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the hospital waiting room after Annie's husband dies of cancer. They persuade some friends to pose "nude" with them for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund. News of their venture spreads & hordes of press soon descend on their small village testing the bonds of friendship. Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest-selling play in British theatre history.
