About the Show
April 20 - May 1, 2022
by Augusto Federico Amador, directed by Lara Trujillo
Atacama is a play of magical realism and profound reconciliation. Amidst the extraordinary landscape of Chile’s Atacama desert, two strangers search for the long-lost remains of their children, “disappeared” victims of the brutal Pinochet regime. In their quest for closure, they traverse Chile’s history to examine the opposing views and actions that tore families and countries apart. Their mythic journey explores the transformative possibilities that can lead from transgression to remorse, reparation, forgiveness, and redemption.
Run Time: approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
