In this inaugural online event by the American Association of Persons with Disabilities (AAPD):
- Get energized by the work of great leaders, as the 2024 Paul G. Hearne Awardees is honored;
- Receive an important dispatch from a panel of disabled organizers from across the country, who will share their thoughts on civic engagement and inclusive democracy;
- Hear from Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, and Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su, who will be in conversation with AAPD President & CEO Maria Town, for a discussion on how disability rights, worker rights, and civil rights are intertwined;
- Celebrate disability representation in the arts, with an exclusive performance from the cast of How to Dance in Ohio, and hear from special guest, cast member Imani Russell, as well as from actress Alaqua Cox of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
