About the Show

April 11, 2024

The Great Lakes ADA Center's Arts-n-Rec session Including the Arts in Adapted Recreation Programs” features Ted Sielski, Community Education and Activities Coordinator, Linking Employment Abilities and Potential (LEAP).

Many adapted recreation programs focus on physical activities, sports, or the outdoors. Many people with disabilities want to participate in activities but are not interested in doing something in those areas. By offering different types of activities, recreation programming can become more inclusive and successful for all. This session will focus on the importance of offering arts-based programming within an adapted recreation program, finding community partners, potential funding sources, and implementing the activities. Participants will also learn ways to make arts programming adaptable to all ability levels. There will be time for participants to ask questions of the speaker following the presentation.

Continuing Education Recognition: ACTCP, Certificate of Attendance
