Join a free tour of Minnesota Center for Book Arts studios and stay to print a poster* on a Vandercook printing press. Peek behind the scenes at MCBA — two floors of active book arts studios, a type library featuring wood and metal type in multiple languages, and a printing press from the 1800s. History, art, and a little printing magic!
The tour will run from 1:00 to 1:40pm, printing to follow. Look for the sign and MCBA staff member in front of MCBA’s gallery in the Open Book lobby.
Explore other events that are part of Fall of Freedom, an artist-led weekend of action.
Suggested ages: 7 and up
*Posters are designed and set up on the press ahead of time so you can do the fun part — the printing! If you are excited about the possibility of designing your own poster, consider taking a workshop.
Tours are free AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
