Poetry and Pie is celebrating its tenth year. This annual event celebrates the long light of summer, the joy of pie, and the power of the word. Over thirty homemade pies baked by South Minneapolis neighbors are laid out on a long picnic table. After choosing your slice (or 2 or 3), you settle onto a picnic blanket in the shade with yourself or your friends or family. The finest Minneapolis poets come around and deliver poems right to your blanket. There will be a designated area where an ASL Interpreter will interpret the poems and also help hearing people interact, creating a sense of community and helping make new connections.
